Anna:

"So I've been with the team here in French Polynesia for nearly two weeks now and it's been a lot of fun getting to see them and spend time with them. I've loved seeing all that God has been doing in and through everyone (so many awesome things!)

One of the reasons I'm here has been to do a 'pastoral visit' - to catch up with everyone and see how the team is going. I also felt like I was supposed to stay longer than just a shorter one week visit as the Pacific is an area of the world that has been on my heart for awhile. So I'm super excited to be here with the team now until the end of outreach!

Even though it's only been two weeks, I've been learning so much being in this culture. The island culture is extremely relational, giving and generous and we have been so blessed by the hospitality of the people each place we've stayed. While we want to honor and bless our hosts back, I've been learning more of what it looks like to not live from a place of fear or obligation to meet the expectations people can sometimes have of us. We always look to God first and foremost and then do what He's doing. As He asks us to pour out to bless others He will give us the strength to do so. When He calls us to come away and spend time with Him, we have to trust that He will give grace to the people we are with. It's always best when we choose to live with our eyes fixed on Jesus, rather than in fear of man. This isn't always easy when we're living in a very different culture, and even when we have many cultures within our team. It's a daily challenge to keep discovering the culture of the Kingdom and to bring that in all we do.

I'm so excited for this last month in French Polynesia and believe that God has some awesome things He's going to continue to do both in and through our team."

Kelly:

"Well hello! I'm Kelly from the beautiful colorado rockies! I just entered my third decade during the lecture phase! So for my expectation for outreach.. I'm expecting to come home with a tan. Hoping not to be burnt, like a lobster. ;} No, but really my hope is to see how God is going to grow and mold me into the person he wants me to be. During lecture phase we all learned an exorbitant amount of information, but it was hard see how to apply it. My hope is to live out all we learned during outreach! I hope to get a good sense of my gifts too! I would love to be able to use and grow them during outreach so I can use them in my daily life. And lastly, I can't wait to see all the beauty of God's creation! :)"

"Coucou! Je m'appelle Kelly et je viens des belles montagnes de Colorado! Je suis entrée dans ma vingtième année pendant la phase théorique! Quant à mes attentes pour le phase pratique…j'attends de bronzer. J'espère ne pas prendre un coup de soleil, comme les homards ;} Mais non, sérieusement maintenant, mon espoir c'est de voir comment Dieu va me faire grandir et me former à être la personne qu'Il veut que je sois. Pendant la phase théorique nous avons appris un tas d'informations, mais c'était difficile de comprendre comment l'appliquer. Mon espoir c'est que pendant la phase pratique je vive tout ce qu'on a appris! J'espère apprendre davantage sur mes dons aussi! J'aimerais bien pouvoir les utiliser et les améliorer pendant la phase pratique pour pouvoir les utiliser dans ma vie quotidienne. Finalement, j'ai hâte de voir toute la beauté de la création de Dieu! :)"

Casia:

"Coucou! I'm the crazy Casia Joy of the team and I'm from Pacifica, California! {smile} This is my 21st year in this world and it has been one of the most incredible chapters of growth thus far, and it is a chapter that is continuing to unfold in this incredible place and culture. One of the things God has been teaching me is perseverance. It is something He already began showing me in the last month of our lecture phase in France. The really cool thing about learning perseverance is that all I have to do is look at God. My part is just to respond to what Jesus is doing today, and by responding to him today… he'll bring me exactly where he wants me, to the promises for the future that he has already shown me. For me, this is specifically what this time is for: to become more intimate with God, and learn perseverance {responding to him in the day to day}. This is my honeymoon time with God, and what a place to honeymoon! ;}"

"Coucou! Je suis la folle Casia Joy de l'équipe et je viens de Pacifica en Californie {sourit} C`est ma 21ème année dans ce monde et cela a été un des chapitre les plus incroyable de mon cheminement jusque là, et c'est un chapitre qui continue à se dérouler dans cet incroyable pays et cette merveilleuse culture. Une chose que Dieu m'enseigne c'est la persévérance. C'était déjà quelque chose qu'Il commençait à me montrer pendant le dernier mois de la phase théorique en France. Ce qui est bien en apprenant la persévérance c'est que tout ce qu'il faut faire c'est de regarder à Dieu. Mon rôle est simplement de répondre à ce que Jésus fait aujourd'hui et de Lui répondre aujourd'hui…Il m'amènera là où Il veut que je sois, aux promesses de l'avenir qu'Il m'a déjà montrés. Pour moi, voici le but de ce temps-là: avoir plus d'intimité avec Dieu, et apprendre la persévérance {Lui répondre de jour en jour}. C`est les noces avec Dieu, et quel endroit pour le faire! ;}"

Farrah:

"My name is Farrah, I'm 22 years old, and I am studying art history. I am a new Christian and come from a non-christian family. The Lord has guided my every step since I gave my life to him. I come from Montpellier in the south of France. Taking my first flight on an airplane is the beginning of the adventure I have been waiting for. It is a great undertaking we have before us, and with which God is helping us. It excites me to take busses trains and planes together as a team, and to find ourselves at the ends of the earth. Our team has already shared so many exciting experiences, and I am looking forward to more in the weeks to come."

"Je m'appelle Farrah, j'ai 22 ans, et je suis étudiante en histoire de l art. Je viens d'une famille non chrétienne et je suis nouvelle convertie. le seigneur guide chacun de mes pas depuis que je lui est donné ma vie. je viens de Montpellier dans le sud de la France. Ce que j'attends, c'est déjà de prendre l'avion car je ne l'ai jamais pris auparavant et c'est pour moi le début de l'aventure. C'est une entreprise incroyable que nous entreprenons avec l'aide de Dieu. Se retrouver tous ensemble a chaque instant traversant des bus, trains et avions pour nous retrouver a l'autre bout de la terre est vraiment enthousiasmant, nous partageons tant de choses déjà et j'en attends plus encore dans les semaines a venir."

Mathieu:

"My name is Mathieu, and I am 21 years old. Having grown up in a Christian Family, I met Jesus about 15 years old. I'm from Nice in the south of France. What I am looking forward to during outreach is to know the Father Heart of God better, and to search for it with abandon. I desire to share this knowledge of God with others we meet on our way. I want to be a channel through which God can flow, and I am also looking forward to becoming more intimate with Him."

"Je m'appelle Mathieu, et j'ai 21 ans. Ayant grandit dans une famille chrétienne, j'ai rencontrer Jésus vers 15 ans. Je viens de Nice dans le sud de la France. Ce que j'attend de la phase pratique c'est de mieux me connaitre et surtout d'aller chercher le coeur du Père. le faire connaitre aux personnes qu'Il mettra sur notre route. De pouvoir être un canal que Dieu utilise. Je cherche aussi a aller plus profondément dans l'intimité avec Lui."

Ali:

"My name's Ali, I'm 27 and I'm from England. I' m leading this team, which is a very new experience for me, but God is teaching more about the role as each new day comes! I am *so* excited for what's going to happen on this trip! I've definitely felt from the beginning that God is going to do big things in and through each of us. I'm excited to see French Polynesia again, as I have so many good memories from the last time when I came with a team 3 years ago. I'm especially looking forward to the opportunity to reconnect with the people we met before. I'm also excited to be able to bring other people back with me and see their first experiences of everything. I'm expecting to learn a lot, through both the Polynesian culture and through the members of the team. It's going to be an amazing time of trusting God and drawing closer to Him in everything."

"Je m'appelle Ali, j'ai 27 ans et je viens d'Angleterre. Je suis leader de l'équipe, ce qui est une nouvelle expérience pour moi, mais Dieu m'enseigne davantage sur le rôle que j`ai chaque jour! Je suis *tellement* enthousiaste pour ce qui va se passer pendant le voyage! Je ressens depuis le début que Dieu va faire de grandes choses en et au travers chacun de nous. Je suis trop contente de revoir la Polynésie, car j'ai tant de souvenirs de la dernière fois que je suis venue ici avec une équipe il y a 3 ans. J'ai surtout hâte d'avoir l'opportunité de revoir les gens qu'on a rencontré la dernière fois. Ça me plaît aussi de pouvoir amener d'autres personnes avec moi et de voir leurs premières expériences ici. J'attends d`apprendre beaucoup, au travers la culture polynésienne et au travers des membres de notre équipe. Ça va être un temps incroyable pour mettre notre confiance en Dieu et de se rapprocher de Lui en toute circonstance."

Beth:

"The Silicon Valley near San Francisco is my stomping ground. Being the matriarch of the group at age 35, I have often been called Mama Beth over the past three months. I'm stuck in Paradise with a wonderful team of people… what more can I ask for. What more can I say than God is good. Though I grew up in the church, my belief in God has had its rocky moments, but He taught me so much thus far about his provision, gentleness and the grandiosity of his love. I am excited to learn more about myself, my team mates, and the gentle love of God that I can share it with others - with both the people of French Polynesia and with my team. I thirst for cultural experiences, and am looking forward to having that thirst quenched here in French Polynesia through interaction with the people, and through seeing the beauty and diversity the polynesian culture brings to the World."

"J'ai grandis dans la Silicon Valley près de San Francisco, Californie. Comme j'ai 35 ans, je suis la plus âgée du groupe et on m'a souvent appelé Mama Beth pendant les trois derniers mois. Je suis coincée au Paradis avec une merveilleuse équipe…que peut-on demander de plus? Je ne peux que dire Dieu est bon. Même si j'ai grandis dans l'église, j'ai vécu des moments plus difficile dans ma foi, mais Il m'a enseigné beaucoup plus sur sa provision, sa gentillesse et le grandeur de son amour. Je m'attends à apprendre d'avantage sur moi-même, sur les membres de l'équipe et aussi sur l'amour doux de Dieu pour le partager avec d'autres personnes - avec les gens de la Polynésie aussi bien que l'équipe. J'ai soif d'expériences culturelles et j'ai hâte de combler cette soif ici en Polynésie Française notamment dans les interactions avec les gens, la beauté et la diversité que la culture polynésienne apporte au monde."

Steph:

"Hello friends! I am the lone Aussie on the team, which means that I don't have to fight anyone for the kangaroo steaks. I'm 27, taking a break from full time work as a doctor to have an adventure of a lifetime with some amazing people! I'm expecting to put into practice what we have been learning these last three months - to listen to the voice of God, to walk with Him, to trust Him for our needs. I know I will be challenged a great deal! I am looking forward to living in a spectacularly beautiful place, and to learn to embrace the gentle rhythms of Polynesian life."

"Bonjour les amis! Je suis la seule Australienne de l'équipe, ce qui veut dire que je ne dois pas me battre pour avoir les steaks de kangourou. J'ai 27 ans et je prends une année sabbatique dans mon travail, je suis médecin, pour vivre l'aventure de ma vie avec des gens incroyables! J'attends de mettre en pratique ce que j'ai appris pendant les trois derniers mois - d'écouter la voix de Dieu, de marcher avec Lui, de me confier en Lui pour nos besoins. Je sais que je vais faire face à plusieurs challenges! j' ai hâte de vivre dans un endroit tellement beau et d'apprendre à embrasser le doux rythme de la vie polynésienne."
